ONE GREAT DAY RAISES ESSENTIAL FUNDS FOR CHILDRENS CHARITIES

Located in the heart of Preston, St George’s Shopping Centre have raised an impressive £441.90 during their ONE GREAT DAY event supporting Great Ormond Street hospital and local charity Baby Beat, based at Royal Preston Hospital. The money raised has been split equally between these two important charities.

One Great Day is an annual UK wide fundraising event, where communities and families come together at their local shopping centre to get involved in a day of fun and fundraising. All money raised go towards supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital and a children’s charity local to the shopping centre. St George’s chose Baby Beat again this year to support.

St George’s One Great Day charity event on Friday 24th September, saw centre staff and shoppers take part in a huge effort to cycle 230 miles. The team took it in turns to pedal away on exercise bikes outside the lower-level H&M, in the hope that impressed spectators would sponsor their efforts. The event was in collaboration with Pure Gym Preston, who generously provided the equipment so that the challenge could take place.

St George’s Shopping Centre chose to partner with Baby Beat Appeal for another year as they provide exceptional care for premature and sic babies and their families across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Volunteers from Baby Beat charity also had a ‘great day’ at the centre, raising plenty of cash, selling their merchandise and talking to shoppers about their charity.
